The genre of YouTube “science” videos ranges from legitimately educational content to people doing the Diet Coke and Mentos thing and describing it as an “experiment.” This video from the Backyard Scientist falls into the latter category, but it’s still pretty awesome.
OK, so that was a total bust. But there is one upside to performing this experiment: You will no longer have to explain why you still own a lava lamp.
