We’d watch the hell out of this fan-made Tomb Raider movie

Do your fanvids come with stunt coordinators?

Leave it to Lara Croft to inspire a fan film that sets the bar high for all other fanvids. A new Tomb Raider fan film produced by Polish fans has all the hallmarks of a high-budget action thriller, complete with tense action sequences, a badass lead heroine, and stunt coordinators.

That’s right. YouTube fan Randall Martin, whose videos have inspired a devoted following, got together with a group of friends and produced this epic video in which Lara is disturbed while at home (in the bath, because this is Tomb Raider after all) by a group of would-be assassins. You know, just another day at the Croft mansion.

The film, entitled “After Island,” seems to be intended as a sequel of sorts to the 2013 Tomb Raider release. The film does a great job of staying with the general aesthetic of the recent games in the franchise, using scenes from the game overlaid with “current” Lara to depict a character still recovering from trauma and fighting to move on.

Thankfully, she can practice plenty of therapy in the form of a little ass-kicking.
