It was only a matter of time before someone made an action movie using the first-person style of GoPro stunt videos.

Starring District 9‘s Sharlto Copley, Hardcore is a partially crowdfunded action movie reminiscent of first-person shooter games. The main character is an amnesiac cyborg who has to fight off hordes of assassins, but the first-person filming technique means we never actually see his face onscreen. This trailer gives us a glimpse at an immersive new addition to the action genre, falling somewhere between the style of the Crank movies and Doom.

As the title suggests, the trailer for Hardcore is pretty hardcore. With this much blood, violence, and adult language, we definitely agree with the video’s NSFW warning.
