If you’ve been confused about how the Far Cry series went from guns to stone-tipped spears, and from riding off-world vehicles to mounting saber-toothed tigers, Ubisoft is here to help.

The publisher of the upcoming game Far Cry Primal has released a new, nearly five-minute-long trailer explaining how it works, what you’ll be doing, and how you’ll get where you’re going.

Ever since the release of the original game in 2004, the Far Cry series has been defined by huge, open worlds that give the player almost complete freedom in terms of when, where, and how they attack the mercenaries, renegades, and warlords that have been the series’s traditional antagonists.

That used to mean driving jeeps and motorcycles, riding on hang gliders, rappelling and zip lining, while using a wide selection of pistols, assault rifles, sniper rifles, and various explosive devices in a cacophony of chaos and an orgy of destruction. Not anymore.

As its name suggests, Far Cry Primal takes place at the end of the Ice Age, which means you’re armed with spears, accompanied by saber-toothed tigers and giant bears, and running around killing caveman. Ubisoft’s new trailer should help long-term Far Cry acclimate to the changes before the arrival of the next installment.

Far Cry Primal will be released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on Feb. 23 and for PC on March 1.
