Here’s what ‘Batman v Superman’ would have looked like in 1949

If nothing else, it's less depressing than whatever Zack Snyder is working on.

Vulture‘s latest remix video is a delightful, pitch-perfect Batman v Superman parody trailer, created using clips from black-and-white Batman and Superman serials.

Video artists Diane Bullock and Mike Schuster collected vintage superhero footage to envision Batman v Superman circa 1949, complete with shoestring special effects and dorky, slightly out-of-shape actors playing the two leads.

Compared to the grim mega-franchise violence of Zack Snyder‘s real Batman v Superman, we’re kind of charmed by this vision of a simpler time, when the most horrifying plot-twist was Superman going bananas and pushing someone’s car off a cliff. Luckily, a floppy-eared Batman is here to save the day.
