The Batman: Arkham Knight PC saga may finally be coming to a close, as Warner Bros. released a patch last night fixing myriad performance issues.

The game was released back in June, and now PC gamers finally have a playable version of the game.

After a very bad PC launch, muddled with angry reviews and many returns, Warner Bros. suspended all sales of the game.

On our gaming rig, fitted with a Intel Core i5 and a NVIDIA 780 GPU, we were able to play the game smoothly at 30 frames with almost all settings set to high. We did notice that the smoke physics had been drastically reduced. Driving around Gotham is far better and a lot less stuttery post-patch. But bumping it up to 60fps, even with all settings set to low, the game was unable to keep framerate constant.

It’s looks like gamers who want to run the game on high settings at 60fps will need a pretty hefty GPU with more than 3GB’s of VRAM.

Although this patch was desperately needed, Warner Bros. still isn’t out of the woodworks yet. According to the official Arkham Knight forums, Warner Bros. confirmed that this is just an interim patch. More patches will be coming, hopefully along with DLC content for season pass holders.

As of now, the game is still not up for sale on Steam or Green Man Gaming.
