It's their first title since 2014.

In front of a rabid Swedish crowd at DreamHack Malmö, Ninjas in Pyjamas brought home their first major Counter-Strike title in over eighteen months.

The Swedish side, who haven't claimed an event victory since ESL One Cologne 2014, defeated serial runners-up Natus Vincere 2-0 in convincing fashion. Though Na`Vi, who were joined again by star player Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács who returned from injury, put up a fight on each map NiP were able to take both games 16-14.

Counter-Strike veteran Patrik "f0rest" Lindberg rolled back the years with 48 kills across the two maps, nearly eleven years after his first tournament win.

In a tournament full of upsets, the legendary NiP team managed to top them all. Na`Vi, who had put a stop to the dreams of Tyloo and the comeback train of DreamHack Cluj winners EnVyUs en route to the final, were favorites to take the championship.

The veteran Swedes only dropped one map in the playoff stages, in the semifinal against surprise package GODSENT. NiP saw off another veteran side, Virtus.Pro, in the round of eight.

The final loss is Na`Vi's seventh runners-up placing in major events in the past twelve months. Ninjas in Pyjamas have appeared in just three finals in the same period.
