Natus Vincere and Fnatic latest teams to reshuffle post-International
WIth each passing day, the post-International roster meltdown continues.
The latest round of roster changes were headlined by Natus Vincere, the three-time International finalists for whom a top-eight finish at The International 4 was something of a disappointment.
The European team had already made changes earlier in the week, removing Kuro “Kuroky” Salehi Takhasomi. But today’s news is even more significant.
The departure of long-time captain Clement “Puppey” Ivanov had been rumored for some time, and the team announced today that Ivanov was indeed stepping away from the squad he once led to an International championship.
Ivanov offered a statement today on the team’s official website, in which he reflected positively on his years spent with the team.
“It has been a great road of success and I have no regrets looking back,” Ivanov said.
Ivanov also emphasized that his competitive Dota 2 career would not be coming to an end. Rumors have suggested that he might join Takhasomi on a new team, though nothing has yet been confirmed in this regard.
Another expected move was officially announced today when Fnatic parted ways with Adrian “Era” Kryeziu, who had served for over two years as the team’s carry.
Kryeziu was involved in a controversy over the summer regarding his status with the team and his ability to compete at The International 4. The gamer's anxiety attacks had become a problem during his travels with the team, who had at times brought in replacement players to fill-in for for him when he was unable to attend competitions.
Kryeziu left open the possibility for returning to competitive Dota 2 in the future and was thankful towards the Fnatic organization in a statement made on the team’s website.
“It’s been a long and awesome run with the guys, but unfortunately everything comes to an end sooner or later,” Kryeziu said.
More changes will follow for both teams, as neither is able to field a full roster today's changes.
