YouTube Guide: "Teach Me How to Brushy"
With over 72 hours of footage uploaded every minute, it’s physically impossible to keep track of the content on YouTube. But in YouTube Guide, the Daily Dot will curate its five favorite finds for each workday.
1) Oregon Dental Association, "Teach Me How to Brushy"
The Oregon Dental Association remixes Cali Swag's District's "Teach Me How To Dougie" with the help of a whole bevy of elementary schoolchildren. If this song had been around in the '80s, I wouldn't have any cavities.
2) Julian Smith, "Never Get Naked in Your Shower"
Julian Smith crafts some of the most creative, catchy, and well produced music videos on YouTube. On this little campfire acoustic diddy, the Los Angeles native riffs on shower dynamics and the common courtesies you should pay when you're a guest in someone else's bathroom.
3) Machinima, "Rejected Minecraft Sports"
Minecraft is a wildly popular game of adventure and wit. But what would happen if its objectives were replaced with more trivial, commonplace games? Machinima explored some of the biggest potential failures that Minecraft could face if the game was left up to more avant-garde gaming thinkers: contests like fishing championships, dirt stacking, and bedrock mining.
4) Jenna Marbles, "100th Video"
Hard to believe that YouTube superstar Jenna Marbles has only made 100 videos, but in that time, she's become one of the site's most recognizable figures and the most-subscribed-to female YouTuber ever. This jump cut detailing the vlogger’s life shows why she's had so much success in such a short amount of time. It's hilarious, creative as hell, and just a little bit R rated.
5) The Piano Guys, "What Makes You Beautiful"
Swap out the five bros in One Direction and replace them with five classically trained musicians, producers, and videographers and what do you get? A cover of One Direction's "What Makes You Beautiful" that even adults might like, naturally.
