With over 72 hours of footage uploaded every minute, it’s physically impossible to keep track of the content on YouTube. But in YouTube Guide, the Daily Dot will curate its five favorite finds for each workday.
1) Nerdist, “Gersberms (Yer Gervin Mah)”
Ermahgerd, lerve! Nerdist kingpin Chris Hardwick and Mike Phirman (who make up comedy duo Hard ‘n Phirm) are vying for the love of one Goosebumps-obsessed girl, with help from Hayley Williams, a Muppet who’s even harder to understand than the Gersberms Girl, and one disapproving author.
2) Josh Sundquist, “Twilight For Math Nerds”
Motivational speaker Josh Sundquist didn’t enjoy reading Twilight, although he did enjoy watching the four movies released so far for all the wrong reasons. He uses a number of graphs, charts and Venn diagrams to show what he feels is wrong with the book and even invokes Inception to explain how author Stephenie Meyer came up with the idea.
3) State Farm, “Eat, Fry, Love: A Cautionary Remix”
William Shatner filmed a State Farm PSA last year dramatizing his experience of getting burned by a turkey fryer. The insurance company teamed up with John Boswell of Symphony of Science to give Shatner’s message the remix treatment.
4) Axis of Awesome, “In The Club Tonight”
The newest song from Axis of Awesome sounds like a generic dance track—but that’s the point. They acknowledge all of those familiar song changes as they go through a typical night out at the club, and it’s not as glamorous as the other songs make it out to be.
5) snuggliepuppy, “Dogs Teaching Chemistry - Chemical Bonds”
Learning chemistry just got easier for the Internet. Using two dogs and some toys to represent the atoms, Paige lays down the basics of ionic and covalent bonds in a visual format dog lovers can get behind.
