Post Punk Kitchen hosts live Google+ chat about vegan Thanksgiving recipes

A triple Venn diagram of awesome is converging tonight at 5 p.m. Eastern: vegans, Google+, and Thanksgiving cooking.

It’s all happening on a Google+ video chat hosted by the talented chefs behind Post Punk Kitchen. They’re calling it a “Live Thanksgiving Slam Video Helpline Google Hangout Extreme.” And for most meat-loving Thanksgiving gluttons, the recipes, at least, sound extreme.

The duo have has posted a fair number of Thanksgiving recipes since they started blogging in 2004, which they’ve posted in a single collection. Yes, these dishes may sound alien to many, but they look delicious. How about a seitan roast stuffed with shiitake mushrooms and leeks, or scalloped potatoes and eggplant bacon? Post Punk chef Isa Chandra Moskowitz calls the latter a “creamy, dreamy, rich” casserole.

I want some—and I’m certainly not the only one. The Post Punk Kitchen boasts more than 25,000 Facebook fans, most of whom come as close as digitally possible to salivating all over the comment section.

“I'm pretty much cooking an entire Thanksgiving feast tonight all from your AMAZING recipes,” Facebook user Gracia Kai posted to their Facebook wall earlier today.

The Guardian’s Andrea Wrem recently recommended the duo for recipes that don’t “smack of ‘tofu-munching sandal wearer.’” If that’s not a sell, I don’t know what is.
