Here at the Daily Dot, we swap GIF images with each other every morning. Now we’re looping you in. In the Morning GIF, we feature a popular—or just plain cool—GIF we found on Reddit, Canvas, or elsewhere on the Internet.

Everybody loves cop shows. Everybody loves kids. What do you get when you put the two of them together? Kodomo Keisatsu, and a whole lot of awesome, that’s what.

Japanese TV drama Kodomo Keisatsu (or Kid Cops) features the adorable Suzuki Fuku, age seven, in the role of a middle-aged police detective who is, yes, hard-boiled and world-weary. He is transformed into a child by a gas he inhales accidentally while pursuing the nefarious criminal racket Red Venus.

With his macho attitude, his three-piece suit, and his magnificent 70’s pompadour, Fuku is a classic example of the badass police detective—if police detectives had curfews, homework, and allowances. Unlike in Hollywood age-based genre movies Bugsy Malone, Big, and Freaky Friday, the age incongruity isn’t played for laughs but for drama. We don’t know how it works as television, but we do know it makes for awesome GIFs.

This one comes from a set of four on the One Drop Two Drops Tumblr, where it has collected 40,002 notes in just under a week. We told you: everyone loves kids; everyone loves cops.

Well, everyone except Red Venus.
