Start your week right with the Daily Dot’s Monday Mashup: the best music remix from around the Web. Turn up your speakers or pop on your headphones, and bring the funk.

Just when you thought “Gangnam Style” was well and truly over (MIT buried it with a cover featuring a Noam Chomsky solo), it twitches and rises once again. It will, however, never rise higher than this mashup: an audacious combination of Beethoven’s Fifth, unquestionably one of the greatest pieces of music ever written, and Psy’s mindless pop.

High culture meets lowbrow, and a disco beat splits the difference. Really, it’s not the first time the class war was smoothed over by a drum machine and some party synthesizers. And despite the fact that you’ve probably heard 800 billion million “Gangnam Style” mashups, you really do need to listen to this one. Your ears will thank you.

As Trendieman put it on Tumblr, “I want this converted into liquid so that I may bathe in it.”

No video yet, alas, and vast YouTube riches doubtless await the first artist to put one together, but there’s a SoundCloud link, and here’s the download link from Picosong. An impressive 83,620 aficionados have gotten their High Romantic groove on since its uploading less than a month ago, plus it’s gotten 19,365 notes on Tumblr and more than 1,500 likes on Facebook.

And now, you are cordially invited to boogie down with Beethoven and Psy.
