In a fitting tribute to George Harrison, the legendary Beatles guitarist who died 10 years ago today, thousands of people have been shouting his name all day—in 140 characters or less.
Harrison was a worldwide trending topic all morning, collecting more than 20,000 mentions in less than eight hours, according to statistics from Topsy, a social media search engine. Most of the tweets contained the perfunctory “RIP” while others quoted lyrics from his hit single “Here Come the Sun.”
