“I’m Elizabeth Warren, and I am running for United States Senate to f*ck some sh*t up” deadpans Molly Erdman in a two-minute twenty-seven second parody video of Warren’s Mass. Senate bid announcement.
Erdman goes on to state she joined a gang when she was 11 and if elected, would push for revenge voucher legislation allowing citizens to “kick any one from Wall Street right in the balls.”
“You built a factory out there — good for you! But you don’t have to be such a dick about it.”
Written and produced by Eddie Geller, the expletive-filled piece titled “Elizabeth Warren Announces Her Bid for Senate,” was uploaded onto YouTube on October 10, and currently sits at just under 50,000 views.
LA- actress and writer Erdman, who contributes the Catalog Living comic to the Daily Dot, explained during a phone interview that the parody was done “just for fun.” Despite the nature of the video, Erdman has nothing but respect for the Harvard professor and politician.
Actually, she’s become quite the fan of Warren. (Erdman watched countless videos of Warren prior to filming.)
“There is something about her, and how she is affecting people, that is very similar to Obama five, six years ago. A fresh face, who tells it like it is, she wants to be the person that rolls up her sleeves and gets to work” Erdman said.
This isn’t the first time Erdman has parodied a politician — in 2007 she performed as Hillary Clinton for then Illinois Senator Obama during a presidential campaign fundraiser.
Clinton’s character, Erdman explained, was “upset that Barack Obama was stealing my thunder. The whole skit was me saying, ‘What is so great about him?’ I was very nervous… (but) he was very gracious and has a good sense of humor.”
Obama even hugged her afterward, saying “I’ll even hug you, Hillary.”
No word yet as to whether Elizabeth Warren has seen the parody, and Warren’s staff did not return a request for comment.
