According to the New York Times, Pinterest’s embrace of quotations has given it new life as a moral compass for many pinners. Users pin and repin pop-philosophy quotes in order to add new order and inspiration to their lives.
“It’s one thing for a family member to tell you to get yourself together,” top pinner Christine Martinez told the Times. “It’s quite another when a person you follow on Pinterest presents some sound advice with a great typeface on a pretty background.”
