Concerned neighbors mistake man’s Jack Daniel’s banner for an ISIS flag

Whoops.

This is what happens when the anti-terrorism mantra “If you see something, say something” goes hilariously wrong.

Worried neighbors sent a 29-year-old man from Switzerland an anonymous letter after they mistakenly thought a banner depicting the logo of Jack Daniel’s whiskey was actually an ISIS flag.

The man, who wished to remain anonymous, told the Sun that he hung the Jack Daniel’s banner because he “found it funny.” His neighbors, evidently, didn’t get the joke.

In the note to him, neighbors reportedly asked if they should be concerned about the “black flag of death” hanging outside of his home.

To be fair, both the Jack Daniel’s logo and the Islamic State logo have white text on a black background—but other than that, the two are quite different.

The man has no plans to take down his whiskey banner, according to Fox News.

This isn’t the only time people have mistaken things for the Islamic State flag.

CNN reported in 2015 that a flag at London’s gay pride parade was an Islamic State flag when it reality it was dildos, butt plugs, and other sex toys made to look like the flag.
