The Shining

October is best known as Halloween month, which means we'll marathon horror movies all month long. To get into the mood, re-watch The Shining, which is every bit as terrifying today as it was when it was released in 1980.

Director Stanley Kubrick's vision for the film different significantly from Stephen King's original novel, but his imagery has become some of the most iconic there is in the world of horror. Turn off the lights, turn up the sound, and always avoid room 237.

Yokai Watch 2

At a glance Yokai Watch 2 may look like a game for kids, but the franchise has been so wildly popular in Japan that its spawned six video games, an anime series, and two films. You'll be able to catch yokai (Japanese spirits) to fight alongside you in this adventure, which is also wonderfully reminiscent of the Pokémon series.

Plus, all the yokai are based on real folklore, so it's entertaining and a great way to learn about Japanese history in a really digestable way.
